Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains what information FunPlex (https://funplex.space) collects, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it simple because we collect very little.
Summary
- You can play as a guest with no account. Signing in with Google is optional and only needed to save progress.
- We do not use advertising, tracking or analytics cookies, and we do not sell your data.
- For signed-in players we store a Google account number (not your email), your display name and your game progress. Guest data is deleted when you leave.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Display name - the name you choose. It is shown to other players in the games and on scoreboards.
- Chat messages - messages you send in game chat are shown to other players. Recent messages are kept only in the server's memory, not in the database.
Information created by using the Service
- Google account number - when you choose "Sign in with Google", Google sends us a unique, anonymous account number (the "sub" value). We use it only to recognise you next time. We do not receive or store your email address, profile photo or password, and we do not use your Google name.
- Sign-in token - a random code saved in your browser's local storage that keeps you signed in until you sign out.
- Guest ID - guests get a temporary random ID that lives only in the open browser tab.
- Game progress - for example virtual money, points, coins, skins, statistics and best scores, plus when your profile was created and last seen.
- Live game data - while you play, your position, actions and appearance are sent to the server and to other players in the same game.
Technical data
Like any website, our server and hosting provider receive technical data when you connect, such as your IP address, browser type and request times. Our hosting provider and network infrastructure may keep these in standard server logs for security and operation. We do not use them to build advertising profiles.
2. How we use information
- to run the games and remember your name and progress;
- to show scoreboards and let you play with others;
- to prevent cheating, abuse and attacks, and to moderate names and chat;
- to fix bugs and keep the Service secure.
3. Cookies and local storage
We do not set our own cookies. We use your browser's local storage to keep your sign-in token and a few settings (for example sound or chosen options), and session storage for your temporary guest ID and to remember that you have seen the welcome screen. These are needed for the Service to work. If you use "Sign in with Google", Google's sign-in button may set its own cookies under Google's policy.
4. Third parties
- Content delivery networks: 3D graphics libraries are loaded from cdnjs.cloudflare.com (Cloudflare), which receives your IP address and browser details when you load a page.
- Hosting: the Service runs on servers rented from a hosting provider, who process data on our behalf.
- Google Sign-In: if you choose to sign in, your browser loads Google's sign-in script and you authenticate with Google (see Google's Privacy Policy). We only receive the identity token Google issues for our app.
- We do not share your data with advertisers or sell it.
5. Who can see your information
Other players can see your display name, your appearance and what you do in the games. Your random player ID is not shown to other players. Authorities may receive data if required by law.
6. How long we keep it
Guests: data is deleted shortly after you leave the page (and always when the server restarts). Signed-in players: profiles and progress are kept while the Service runs and sign-in tokens expire after about 6 months of not being used. Inactive profiles may be deleted at any time. You can ask us to delete your profile (see "Your choices").
7. Your choices and rights
- Change your display name in the game menu (subject to cooldowns and name rules).
- Use "Sign out" on the welcome screen to remove your sign-in token from this device, or play as a guest to leave nothing behind.
- Ask us to delete your profile, or to give you a copy of the data we hold, by contacting the site operator through https://funplex.space. Tell us your display name so we can find it.
- Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/EEA/UK) you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your data, and to complain to your data protection authority.
8. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect data, but no online service can be completely secure.
10. Changes
If we change how we handle data we will update this policy and its "Last updated" date.
11. Contact
